KEYWORD TIPS: How To Analyze Your Potential Buying Keyword

Finding the right buying keyword for my niche was a headache. What I am going to share now is how to pick keywords and how to plan out the structure of the site that you will do for search engine optimization. I’m assuming most of you are doing SEO for your client’s website, where the site is already made or is finished in Onpage SEO.  Whether be an affiliate marketing site, personal website of your client or any website for that matter, it will always be the same principle for finding the right keyword.

The first thing to apply is the buying intent of the keyword. The buying intent keywords are the keywords on top of Google or any search engine that indicate the buying mood “I wanna buy something“ examples of the buying keyword are the product names, model numbers, “How to” (how to get rid of acne) or any “how to” that indicating a problem and the problem needs solving. These keywords are good to target just think about a keyword for information seeking mood mixed with buying mood.

Google keyword tool is a free tool from Google for keyword research this tool is what I usually use. Using this tool is quiet simple and easy, what I do first is check the location I am targeting if it is Philippines, United States or any country you are targeting this is under the Advanced Options and Filters. Then put your targeted keyword in Word or Phrase, start with the root keyword (watches or SEO) I wouldn’t recommend going after the keyword phrase or long tail keyword.  Click the [Exact] button under the Match types and click search. Then you will see the keyword ideas from Google along with its Competition, Global Monthly Searches and Local Monthly Searches.

Open an Excel spreadsheet and put CATEGORY under 1A and under that you can put the potential keywords that you see for example my root keyword is ACNE and the results for this keyword are acne treatment, acne vulgaris, back acne and  etc. just copy the treatment, vulgaris, back and etc. and put those under CATEGORY. This is where you get the categories for your webpages or you can also build an entire site around one category – ie. An “ACNE Remedies” site. Then choose one category that you can build content, I will use Acne Vulgaris as an example but this time check the Only show ideas closely related to my search terms before you click the search icon, and the results will be keywords that contain the phrase Acne vulgaris with higher search volume and low competition. This time I am going to choose potential buying keywords according to the result of the keyword.

The results are “acne vulgaris pictures” not a buying keyword, “what is acne vulgaris” not a buying keyword also, “acne vulgaris treatment” and "treatment of acne vulgaris" are buying keywords. "Acne Vulgaris treatment" is a potential buying keyword with 720 search volume and "treatment of acne vulgaris" with 260 search volume this is low but the point here is that both keywords are closely related and I can target two keywords in one page. Search those keywords in google to know how competitive it is, for keyword “acne vulgaris treatment” the results in page 1 are authority websites like webmd.com and medscape.com and it is not easy to outrank this authority sites. This is not a good sign to see this type of sites ranking on page 1, because even you target this with SEO it is still difficult to get this websites out of the way I’ve already learned from my experience. So I probably wouldn’t really pursue that keyword unless your website is already an authority site.

What I will do now is go back to Google keyword tool and look for another potential buying keywords choose the keyword with above 500 search volume, just search for it and when you find a potential keyword, then check it in Google for the competition and if there are no authority sites on page 1 or there are sites that is authority site but only PR1 on page 1 copy the URL of that site and go to ahrefs.com and explore the link of that site I can actually  do this to PR1 to PR4 sites, you will see how many Quality backlinks that coming from that site this tool will give you an idea what anchor text they are using, this is important because sometimes the anchor text they used is not actually relevant to what keyword you are targeting or there is no exact phrase on their webpage that is in your keyword. If you see something like this, then this will be a green light for you. This is just a quick overview how to analyze your buying keywords, just find about ten to twenty keywords make articles out of it and put it in your webpages.
